The Author Of Confusion
For God is not the author
of confusion,
but of peace,
as in all the churches of
the saints.
(I Corinthians 14:33)
Not long ago I was in a Bible Study group that met once a
week at a local church. It was a good class with a great teacher. For those of
us gathered there with a hunger and thirst to learn more about God, it was a
wonderful opportunity. We were excited! However it wasn’t long before our
excitement turned into frustration. How did this happen? Let me explain. The
teacher was standing at the front of the room. She was talking to us about the
covenants of God and to make a point, she opened her Bible and instructed us to
do the same. She proceeded to read a verse and told us to follow along in our
own. After she finished reading, immediately a chorus of voices rang out.
“Well my Bible doesn’t say that, mine says……” Someone else calls out “Well, mine
says something different, it says………”. Another person in the class begins to
read from her Bible that is different from all the others. The lady sitting
beside of me whispers “I’m confused, it’s all so confusing”. Ladies and
Gentlemen, may I introduce to you the author of confusion? It is none other
than old Satan himself.
Once upon a time, and for a very, very long time,
literally hundreds of years, there wasn’t confusion upon the land concerning the
word of God. Confusion did not reign. Peace reigned, in the hearts of Gods
people, and in his churches concerning it. This is a forgotten time in history,
when there was only one Bible English speaking people knew. It was the old 1611
King James Bible. A beautifully inspired (meaning God breathed) Holy Word of
God, that was loved much, read often, believed in totally, trusted always, and
depended upon solely. For instruction in salvation, for wisdom, guidance,
strength, hope, and comfort. For the prophecy came not in old time by the
will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2
Peter 1:21) For literally millions of people down through the centuries,
this Bible was the only Bible English speaking Christians, and even
non-believers, considered THE ONE and only TRUE word of God. It so satisfied
the needs of the hearts and souls of people, that they had no need of another.
So what happened to change this? How did it happen? Why did it happen? And
what is the answer to modern day confusion?
Like everything else bad, it started with Satan in the
Garden of Eden. It was here that Satan begin his assault upon the word
of God, by questioning it and sowing seeds of doubt in the mind of Eve to its
truth. The father of lies managed to turn Eve away from the word God, enticing
her into the sin of disobedience, that resulted in the fall of all man kind.
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God
had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of
every tree of the garden? (Genesis 3:2). And the serpent said unto the woman,
Ye shall not surely die: (Genesis 3:4) While the work to destroy the word
of God has been moving steadily ever since, in the past twenty five years, it
has seemed to explode, as now there are approximately nineteen different Bibles
(to even call them that feels sacrilegious) on the market. According to data on
one web site I visited,
http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_vers2.htm since 1970, fourteen new
bible versions have been published, and in three different years, more than one
bible was published. For example in 1995, three new versions were published.
Folks, does this not tell you anything? Does it not tell you something is bad
wrong? Now there’s a bible for pretty much anything and everything.. I even
read somewhere that a comic book bible will soon be available for young people.
It really is a disgrace. (A word, like the old KJV, is an antique and out of
fashion these days). The Bibles of today are just a reflection of the times in
which we live, and of the god of this world, (Satan the counterfeiter of Christ)
inspiring those who write them. And he (Jesus) spake a parable unto them, can
the blind lead the blind? shall not both fall into the ditch? (Luke 6:39)
Or into hell?.
It appears that anyone can write a book these days and
call it the Word of God. And they do! These perverted bibles, written by the
will of man, (out of rebellion, greed, and rejection of the word of God) are
selling by the millions, and their writers and publishers are making a ton of
easy money.
But Judgement Day is coming! Woe unto them that call
evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for
darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this
book, If any man shall add unto these things, God Shall add unto him the plagues
that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the
book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and
out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
(Revelation 22:18:19)
While today’s bible writers and publishers make great
money, can I tell you there was not great financial gain to those responsible
for the first non-copyrighted KJV, and that instead of gain they paid a great,
great unimaginable price so that you and I can hold this priceless work in our
hands today. (Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why wasn’t this great work
copyrighted, while the newer bibles of today are? The answer is this. Whoever
claims copyright claims authorship of the work being copyrighted. The holy men
of God were inspired by God in its writing and therefore did not claim
authorship as they were instruments God used to write it. God is the author,
and that’s why there’s no copyright of the KJV.) And they were out to make
money but to get the word of God out to common man. Can I tell you that those
involved in the publication of the KJV paid with their blood, and with their
life? They suffered great hardships, horrendous beatings, and endured great
pain and suffering. For those of you who have never heard of this truth,, I
encourage you to read the book titled “Fox’s Book Of Martyr’s”. For further
reading concerning the history of the writing of the King James Bible, I
encourage you to read the book titled “Purified Seven Times” as the word of God
says: The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of
earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve
them from this generation for ever. (Psalms 12:6:7) For those of us who
love the word of God and know of the terrible price paid for it, it’s
heartbreaking to see it tossed aside today, as if it were an old worn out piece
of garbage, no longer needed or useful.
Yet in spite of people now having multiple choices of
bibles to choose from, there’s not more peace in the hearts of mankind, but
less. Not fewer questions, but more. Not less darkness, but greater. And
there’s tremendous confusion! This, my friend, is exactly what the devil
wants. As a result of all these different so-called bibles, each with a
different voice promoting different beliefs, different doctrines, philosophy’s,
people don’t know what to believe anymore. They don’t know what the truth is.
They can’t figure it out and so they believe anything and everything. This is
the devil’s purpose behind the new bibles of today. He doesn’t want people to
be able to know the truth. He wants the gospel to be hid from the eyes and
minds of people. These perverted works are his tool for doing just that. Not
only is he the father of lies, but the author of lies. But if our gospel be
hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded
the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the gospel of Christ, who
is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:3:4)
Ironically and even sadly, it is these very people who
will almost attack you if you try to help them see the light (truth). They
blindly insist that there’s no great difference between these bibles than the
old KJV, and foolishly insist that they are all the word of God. Since many
have never read the old, old stories they have no way of knowing that the new
stories are flawed. Many know nothing about the original history of the Bible.
They just assume the new one is like it, if not better. Some are aware of the
differences between the different bible versions but insist they are minor, and
of no significance. And then there’s those like us in the Bible Study group I
mentioned at the beginning of this writing, who have a great and sincere desire
to learn more about God, who come up against this spirit (author) of confusion,
that makes learning difficult if not near impossible, because for the first time
in hundreds of years, we don’t have ONE bible, ONE standard, ONE reference we
consider the word of God. We can see the same confusion in churches across
America today. Where peace and blessed assurance once reigned, in the true word
of God, a spirit of confusion now fills the air.
This is Satan’s doing. Since the beginning of time he
has been a liar, a thief, and destroyer. (John 10:10, John 8:44). His works are
evident in the new bible versions. He has changed words into lies. He has
taken (stolen) some words, sentences, and even verses all together. He is
working to totally destroy the original inspired word of God, and replace it
with corrupted leaven text. God’s word is becoming more and more unrecognizable
every day.
Why is Satan attacking the word of God with an ax? What
is he afraid of? What is he trying to accomplish? Here are the answers. It
is through the written word of God that we learn of God, and of his beloved son
Jesus. We learn of who we are. We learn about our sin, and the penalty of sin,
and of our need for a Saviour. We learn that Jesus is that Saviour, and that he
died on the cross, so that through him we might have eternal life, and a home in
heaven. We learn how to live right and be pleasing to God, and how to serve and
honor him with our life. We learn how to win others for the Lord and his
kingdom, and we learn about Satan, his works, desires, and defeat. And we decide
which we will follow. While this is a very simple explanation, it is the truth,
and the heart of the matter as to why Satan wants to destroy the true word of
God. Satan is afraid that we will hear the word, will believe the word, accept
Jesus as Savior, become a child of God, and that he will lose us as one of his.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans
10:17) Jesus says: Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that heareth my
word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not
come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)
Satan knows he is already condemned and he wants for you and me to be also.
Therefore, he works through others to steal and pervert the word of God, so that
the truths of God will remain hidden, and we’ll perish along with him.
My research of the KJV Bible and the newer versions,
reveal that the newer versions are derived (meaning taken from) from the 1611
KJV. While they seem in parts to be one and the same they are not. It takes
careful reading, studying, and comparing to see the important SUBTLE
discrepancies and the significance of them. In the Bible we are given many
symbols laden with spiritual meanings. One of these is salt. It is seen as
needful for various purposes. In Matthew 5:13 Christians are told: Ye are
the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost HIS savour, wherewith shall it
be salted? it is henceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be
trodden under foot of men. And where do Christians receive this salt? From
the word of God. But if salt has been removed from it, then Christians, (as
well as others) who read it, are not going to be fed this important nutrient,
and as a result there is going to be a spiritual deficiency. Deficiency means
lacking some quality necessary for completeness; therefore defective. The word
of God then through omissions and changes, becomes the leaven text God warns us
of in Galatians 5:9.
Another important biblical symbol is light. In John
8:12 we read: Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of
the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the
light of life. In Psalms 119: 105 we read: Thy word is a lamp unto my
feet, and a light unto my path. In Psalms 119:30 we read: The entrance
of thy word giveth light: it giveth undersanding unto the simple. Psalms
36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy life shall we see light.
Jesus said: I am come a light into the world that whosoever believeth on
me should not abide in darkness. (John 12:46) But if “light” has
been removed from the word of God, (darkness put in for light and light for
darkness – Isaiah 5:20) then how can one come to know God, become a child
of God, to follow him? These are but two very simple examples (and there are
many more) of the danger of the new bible versions, who are guilty of removing
these important spiritual elements and others from the word of God. In 2 Timothy
3:16:17 we read: ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all
good works. The key word is “all”. Those who are behind the writing of the
other versions are not only leaving things out, they are re-interpreting God’s
word to fit their own dark agenda. This too is Satan’s doing. Remember,
Satan’s objective through these false bibles is to keep you in the dark so your
mind will be blinded to the truth, so you won’t come to the knowledge of the
saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why “light” is being obscured and
removed from the Bible. In Luke 8:11 we read: Now the parable is this: the
seed is the word of God. In Matthew 13:19 we read how the wicked one can
come and snatch the seed away. This is what he’s doing today. This is why many
are confused, lost, and in spiritual darkness. And this is why Christ warned
us: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. (I Peter 5:8)
But there is good news! The good news of Jesus Christ has
never changed, and never will. Even though Satan has
been working since the Garden of Eden to destroy the word of God, God has
promised that his word is forever settled, and shall remain, as long as the
earth is. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. (Psalms 119:89)
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of
grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word
of the Lord endureth for ever.
And this is the word which
by the gospel is preached unto you. (I Peter 1:24:25)
This means like Eve, we a choice. We can choose to
believe God’s word or the devil’s. The old path’s are still there. If you’ve
left them, you can go back. It’s not too late. Don’t let the devil deceive you
with his lies. You don’t need a new so-called bible that will be replaced in a
little while by yet another one, and another one. God got it right the first
time. Satan rejected it then. He rejects it now. And being the thief he is,
word by word, line by line, verse by verse, he’s trying to steal it and destroy
it.
In 2 Timothy 3:1:8 we read
that in the last days perilous times shall come. God describes some of the
things that will be taking place in these last days. He speaks of those who
have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof (Jesus), and he tells us to
turn away from them. He says that they are ever learning, but are never able to
come to the knowledge of truth, and that they resist the truth, and are men with
corrupt, and reprobate minds concerning the faith. (Sounds like an excellent
description of the modern day Bible writers). As I hear the confusion of today,
and see great spiritual darkness as a result of all the different bibles,
doctrines, beliefs that are being expounded in the world, for this reason and
others, I cannot help but believe that we are in last days Christ spoke of.
Perhaps more than ever before, it’s so important that man gets right with God
before it’s too late. And there’s only one way to do that. Through faith in
His word. The ONE only true word of God.
O taste and see that the
LORD is good, blessed is the man that trusteth in him. (Psalms 34:8).
This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that
God is light, and in him is no darkness AT ALL. (I John 1:5 ) Being born again,
not of corruptible seed ,but of incorruptible BY THE WORD OF GOD, which liveth
and abideth forever. (I Peter 1:23)
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our
faith,
who for the joy that was set before him endured the
cross,
despising the shame, and is set down
at the right hand of the throne of God.
(Hebrews 12:2)
Readers, Remember, O please remember - God is not the
author of confusion but of peace…...
By Nancye Sims
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD,
and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Therefore, behold I am against the prophets, saith the
LORD,
that steal my words
everyone from his neighbor.
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD,
that use their tongues and say, He saith.
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams,
saith the LORD, and do them them,
and cause my people to err, by their lies, and by
their lightness;
yet I sent them not, nor commanded them:
therefore they shall not profit this people at all,
saith the LORD.
